Graves Garrett LLC

Graves Garrett LLC represents businesses, executives and individuals nationwide in complex commercial litigation, white collar criminal defense litigation and regulatory matters. The firm offers comprehensive and creative solutions to its clients most challenging legal problems along with unparalleled client service and a true commitment to obtaining the best result possible.

Also considered a “go to” firm for high-profile political and election law matters, Graves Garrett comprises attorneys with backgrounds as former federal prosecutors, state prosecutors, and former FBI agents, all of whom have extensive experience investigating and litigating and resolving complex federal and state cases.

The firm’s approach to serving clients and the community is not coincidentally similar to the ideals taught in Scouting – partner Todd Graves is an Eagle Scout and has been active in Scouting throughout his entire life. He presently serves as Executive Vice-President of the Pony Express Council of the Boy Scouts of America. In addition, he is involved with his local Troop 714 and his three sons are each active Scouts. Elsewhere in the community, Todd is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Royal Association and a founding board member of the Kansas City Missouri Police Foundation.

Prior to starting Graves Garrett, Todd served as a presidentially appointed United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri. He also was twice elected Platte County, Mo., Prosecutor and, at the time of his first election, was the youngest full-time prosecuting attorney in Missouri.

In 1991, Todd received his law degree and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Virginia. He received a bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Missouri in 1988.

Raised on a family farm near Tarkio, Mo., Todd has been married 23 years to his wife, Tracy. The couple has four children, and they reside on a 270-acre farm north of Kansas City that has been in the family since 1867.
